International Day of Action for Rivers 2012 in Berkeley

Take Back Our Rivers - Occupy The Marsh on March 14

Please join us at The Marsh in downtown Berkeley to celebrate rivers on March 14. The theme for this 15th annual International Day of Action Against Dams and For Rivers, Water and Life is “Keep Our Rivers Free!” Our event will include a screening of A River Runs Though Us, a spectacular

slam poetry performance by Abe Becker, African drumming and dance by UC Berkeley students, a photobooth, delicious local snacks and drinks, and more!

Bring the spirit of the Occupy movement with you as we amplify our voices in this day of struggle, celebration and action!

When: Wednesday, March 14th, 6-9 pm
Where: The Marsh Theater
2120 Allston Way, Berkeley, Ca 94704
(easily accessible from Downtown Berkeley BART)

We will also feature a slideshow of photos from different communities around the world participating in the “Keep Our Rivers Free!” theme. Take a look at the 2012 actions already planned for this year. If you can't attend our event, we hope you plan your own, and let us know all about it!

Admission is free, and donations will be gratefully accepted!

International Rivers is pleased to have International Accountability Project, Tuolumne River Trust, American Rivers, and the Coalition to Fight Factory Farming cosponsor the event.

Please RSVP on Facebook. We hope to see you there!

We thank Trader Joe's, Monterey Market, Whole Foods and Local Love catering for donating food and drink!
