The Orange and Region Water Security Alliance (ORWSA) celebrated recent successes in restoring and restocking the Macquarie River with native fish with a day of activities on the riverbanks at River Park in Bathurst. Starting the day with a traditional Australian riverside morning tea of damper and billy tea, ORWSA members were given a short history of the Macquarie River and an indication of its future sustainability by Rick Burns, property owner of Long Point. The Burns family has lived on the Macquarie River at Long Point for over 100 years. The day also included fishing and barbeque.Contact:
