“SunGanges” is a new film from Bay Area filmmaker Valli Bindana about the epic conflict between India’s land, energy, water and people. The documentary follows three curious citizens who try to unravel the connection between vanishing rivers and massive energy projects in India. The movie takes a playful, investigative approach to a deadly serious subject, and finds many reasons for hope. While the film is still on the festival circuit, Ms. Bindana is making the film available for streaming to International Rivers supporters for one week, starting on March 14. In coordination with the opening of the exhibition, Kara Women Speak, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art will host a public forum with these extraordinary human rights and environmental activists, who will speak about their work to protect the globe's major rivers and the rights of communities who depend on them. Ready for our festive gala event! Our 30th anniversary celebration was a beautiful thing to behold. The location was gorgeous, the room was full, the "river-tini" cocktail was delicious and everybody was in a festive mood. It was a special night.
