Cameroon
Lom Pangar Hydropower Project (FY12)

Project description:
The Lom Pangar Hydrpower Project (LPHP) is located in Cameroon's Eastern Province and consists of a 46 m high regulating dam on the River Lom about 4 km before his confluence with the Pangar River and 13 km before his confluence with the Sanaga River; an associated reservoir with a useful capacity of 6 bn m3, associated surface of 537 km2 and a maximum storage level of 674.5 m; a 30 MW hydroelectric power plant at the foot of the dam; and a 120 km long 90 kV transmission line between the power plant and the Eastern Network at Bertoua. Mozambique
Greater Maputo Water Supply Expansion Project

Project Description: The project development objective is to increase the production and treatment capacity of water in order to meet the demand for water of the residents in the Greater Maputo Area. The first component of the project will involve the completion of thre Corumana Dam, on the Sabie River, through the construction of the abstraction point for about 60,000 m3/day of raw water from the dam, about 55 kilometers of pipe to transmit raw water, a water treatment plant, about 40 kilometers of pipe to transmit treated water, distribution reservoirs, and ancillary works. Nepal
Kabeli-A Hydro Electric Project

Project Description: The proposed project is a small peaking run-of-river hydropower project that will be built in Panchthar District in the Eastern Development Region of Nepal. More information.

Tanzania
Private Power Generation (Ruhudji HPP) Project

Status: Estimated date of appraisal completion February 28, 2014. Estimated date of Board Approval June 26, 2014.
Project Description: The government of Tanzania intends to develop the Ruhudji Hydro Power Project (HPP), a 358 MW hydro power scheme to generate 2,000 GWh of electricity per annum, in the private sector. The project development objective (PDO) is to improve the environment for private sector investment in this project, thereby increasing private sector investment in Tanzanian climate-friendly hydropower generation capacity. Albania
Enso Albania

Amount: The target is to invest around EUR 100 million until 2015 in small hydro projects targeting a total installed capacity of up to 50MW.
Status: Projected Board Date, September 29, 2011
Project Description: The proposed project is an early stage equity investment in a holding company in Albania (the "Company") to be established by Enso Hydro GmbH ("Enso" or the "Sponsor"), an Austrian company specializing in investments in small hydro projects with up to 15MW capacity (the "Project"). IFC's investment will be an up to EUR 6 million equity investment for up to 20% of the share capital of the Company. One 8.9MW hydro power plant on the river Lengarica has already been identified and the concession is signed and a concession for a cascade of 5 small hydro projects with a total installed capacity of 29.8MW on the river Mati has been awarded and ready to be signed. 1 to 2 further small hydro projects will be acquired and developed in the future, however these are not identified yet. Laos
Nam Ngum 3

Status: Date SPI Disclosed: December 5, 2011. Projected Board Date: Feburary 3, 2012.
Project Description: Nam Ngum 3 involves the development, ownership, and operation of a 440 MW reservoir hydropower plant and a 100 kilometer transmission line. The Project will include a 220 meter high concrete face rockfill dam, and a reservoir with active storage of 1,070 million m3 and surface area of up to 27 km2. The transmission system will be interconnected to the Nabong sub-station and further to the Udon Thani sub-station owned by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. (Also being funded by ADB).
