Thank you to everyone who took action on November 10th

More than 1,500 people signed the petition to cancel El Zapotillo Dam.

Thousands of people from 18 countries around the world participated in demonstrations as part of an International Day of Action to Cancel El Zapotillo Dam.

Dam-affected people, activists and their allies held protests outside the Mexican Embassies in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Panama, Spain, Turkey and the US.

Friends from Australia, Costa Rica, Chile, Germany, France, South Africa, India and El Salvador, sent letters addressed to the Mexican Government calling for the cancellation of El Zapotillo dam.

Messages and videos of support were sent from Kenya and South Africa.

Actions took place all over Mexico: In the cities of Leon, Monterrey, Mexico City, San Cristobal and Tijuana. In Guadalajara more than 1,000 people took to the streets in a march to the offices of the Governor. They stayed there throughout the day and into the night, demanding that their voices be heard.

In San Francisco and Los Angeles, Hijos Ausentes (absent children of Temacapulin) who now live in the US joined together outside their respective Mexican Embassies.
