Mr. Secretary,
For over 20 years the indigenous communities, fishermen, farmers, extractivists, urban populations, quilombolas, riiverine peoples and other social and economic groups have been fighting against the construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant (UHE), on the Xingu River.
