"At World Water Forum 5 Expect a Flood of Risk" - International Rivers Warns. Expect increased global warming, earthquakes, poverty, and debt if world leaders push big dams at the Fifth World Water Forum. Read the press statement by Peter Bosshard.

Peter Bosshard, International Rivers, USA, was closely involved with the World Commission on Dams, and has coordinated campaigns to stop destructive projects in many countries.

Ikal Angelei, Friends of Lake Turkana, Kenya, works to stop plans to build the Gibe 3 Dam in Ethiopia.

Ercan Ayboga, Save Hasankeyf Initiative, Turkey, works to stop Turkey's Ilisu Dam.

Pianporn Deetes, Living Rivers Siam, supports the rights of local communities over their rivers and opposes threats to rivers and riverine ecosystems in Thailand, the Mekong and the Salween River Basins.
