Inambari: The Urgent Need for a Serious National Discussion critically examines the energy agreement between Peru and Brazil signed on June 16, 2010. It also describes the environmental and social impacts of the Inambari dam project proposed in the Peruvian Western Amazon.

The Peruvian government has announced that the energy from Inambari will be "cheap." The book points out this to not be true, because the cost of generation established in the feasibility study is much higher than the current rate. The high costs of the environmental and social costs would be simply transferred to Peru. The Inambari, a widely rejected dam by the local population remains controversial.
