Mobilizacion Norte-Sur
On the 10th and 11th of March there was a colloquium entitled "Movilización Norte-Sur": Minas, Represas y "Shale gas" ( Mobilization North- South: Mines, Dams and "Shale Gas." The Committee for Human Rights in Latin America organized this event in conjunction with five other organizations. Participants from South America, Indigenous representatives and members of environmental groups were present.

Artists Respond to Three Gorges: March 14, Berkeley CA
Artists Respond To Three Gorges

International Rivers and partners held a contemporary arts event at the David Brower Center. The event examined the Three Gorges Dam and activism from the contemporary artist's perspective; showcasing music, readings and art work inspired by the Yangtze river. The event focused on the ways in which contemporary art addresses the real world, and how this engagement can stimulate artistic innovation and creativity. For more information please visit our website.

Day of Action For Rivers Event in Bend, Oregon
In Celebration of the Deschutes River and in solidarity with those fighting to protect free flowing rivers around the world, Day of Action For Rivers Celebrations were held in Bend, Oregon on March 14. As part of the program there was a screening of "A River Runs Through Us" a documentary by Carla Pataky.
