Protestors demand that the 12 mega-dams planned in the middle of Sarawak's rainforests never be built. This was the first indigenous-led protest of this scale ever to occur in the state. The protestors succeeded in illuminating the poor practices of dam builders and spoke the truth about unsustainable hydropower.

Hear from three people who were in Sarawak and helped organize the protest: Peter Kallang, Chairman of the SAVE-Rivers network in Sarawak (over Skype video); Bria Morgan, Executive Director of Borneo Project; and Zachary Hurwitz, Policy Program Coordinator at International Rivers.
